AN ODYSSEY THROUGH CENTRAL ASIA, CAPTURED IN STILLS, SOUND AND SCENT.
AN ODYSSEY THROUGH CENTRAL ASIA, CAPTURED IN STILLS, SOUND AND SCENT.
To journey through this region is to discover lands teeming with life of their own. This is the stuff of dreams, conjuring images of vast mountain ranges, the earthy warmth of yurts, and elegant architecture.
Caravanistan is an 80-pager visual meditation on that journey. Each page is a moment suspended in time, inviting you to wander in the beauty, history and mystery of these distant lands. To deepen the immersion, each book comes with a custom scent and an original soundtrack.
A SONIC PAIRING
Produced by Danish Naufal, the soundtrack is composed of fragments of space and memory. Like the playful defiance of telling my mother I was off to another mountain range, to the echo of dhikr sessions in the mosque. These lived experiences became textures, infused with influences from the Nusantara, forming a dialogue between our culture and theirs.
A delightful blend across borders with naughty 70s psychedelic rock rhythms in parallel with the dombra strumming in Hijaz tuning. The personal journey I went on is now a shared language.

HOP ONTO THE CARAVAN
Every journey feels like a gift, a chance to glimpse into the worlds of others, to gather fragments of their universe. Central Asia is one such world where I became a smuggler of dreams, folding time into pages, carrying its breath like something alive.
